Two PhD student positions in theoretical philosophy, Groningen (The Netherlands), DDL: 2016-09-14
The Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Groningen offers a PhD position in Philosophy. This is in addition to the two PhD scholarships recently advertised.
The position is in the Department of Theoretical Philosophy. Information about the department and staff can be found here: http://www.rug.nl/ filosofie/organization/theoretical/?lang=en Applications are invited from high quality prospective PhD students in the areas of philosophy of science, epistemology or formal epistemology.
Candidates should have a master?s degree in Philosophy with an excellent academic record. They should have a very good command of English and strong academic writing skills.
The University of Groningen offers a salary of ? 2,174 (salary scale PhD students Dutch Universities) gross per month in the first year, up to a maximum of ? 2,779 gross per month in the final year, based on a fulltime position, excluding a 8% holiday allowance and a 8.3% end of the year bonus. The position will be for four years (unless the candidate’s prior experience is judged to make a three-year position more suitable).
The preferred starting date is 1 November 2016, or as soon as possible thereafter.
